Is Cameron Diaz Retiring From Acting? Selma Blair Seems To Think So

Terrible news, rom com fans – Cameron Diaz, queen of the genre, could be retiring from acting.

Her friend and The Sweetest Thing co-star Selma Blair spilled the beans in a recent interview:

I had lunch with Cameron the other day. We were reminiscing about the film. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting. She’s like, “I’m done.” I mean, she doesn’t need to make any more films. She has a pretty great life, I don’t know what it would take to bring her back. She’s happy.

This isn’t too surprising if you consider that she hasn’t acted since the 2014 remake of Annie – she was nominated for a Razzie Award for her performance as Miss Hannigan.

“Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview. Cameron Diaz is NOT retiring from anything,” she tweeted.

…Perhaps someone needs to sit Selma down and explain what a joke is again? “I don’t know what it would take to bring her back” is a real knee-slapper, alright.

Rumours that Cameron has retired from acting have been on the go for a while – an ‘insider’ told Daily Star that the actress wants to focus on her marriage to Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, whom she wed in 2015.

“She’s happy, she’s in love and wants to make the most of her freedom and free time.”

Look, if we were able to retire at 45 on a pile of Hollywood money we’d do it too. But come back to us, Cam! We need another The Holiday.
