Strictly’s Seann Walsh and Katya Jones Made An Awkward Apology On It Takes Two Last Night
"Our relationship wasn't perfect."
It seems like Strictly’s Seann Walsh and Katya Jones aren’t quite out of the dog house yet after issuing yet another apology for their infamous kiss, this time on the telly.
The pair appeared on the Strictly companion show It Takes Two (it sure does) last night, and were questioned by host Zoe Ball on the scandal.
Looking very solemn, Seann once again apologised for what had happened and responded to his now ex-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries’ scathing Twitter statement, in which she very publicly ended the relationship.
“First of all, I’d rather not be having to address this publicly but I feel like I have to,” he said. “I made a mistake, which I’m very sorry for. I’m sorry for the hurt I caused. You never think about the extent of the damage you’re going to do in the moment of a mistake you’ve made.”
Addressing Rebecca’s accusation that he called her a “psycho” for suspecting something was between him and Katya, Seann said:
I’m not perfect. Far from it. Our relationship wasn’t perfect. That doesn’t mean that I wanted it to end the way that it finally did. I’m very sorry for that. I feel it’s also important for me to say that the people who know me the most, that love me, they know that I am not the person I’m being portrayed as. I’m still sorry for what I did, but it’s very important for me to get that out there.
Katya, for her part, reiterated that the kiss was no reflection on her marriage to fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones, saying that things are “absolutely fine” between them.
The pair confirmed that they are continuing in the competition despite calls for them to stand down, and are working on a Charleston for Saturday night.
Reaction from viewers was divided. On the one hand, people didn’t really like that Seann’s apology was mostly about rehabbing his image – but on the other, they aren’t really going for this ‘trial by media’.
#ItTakesTwo that apology sounded far from sincere. I just heard “me me me” from Sean(n) and the same from katya. If either of them had any integrity they should have walked. It has over shadowed the show and hurt their partners in the process.

Has anyone actually watched this and fully understood what he said?
"Our relationship wasn't great but.." he automatically lays the blame at Rebecca's door.
It wasn't great because he treated her like crap.
He's sorry he was caught not sorry for what he did. #ItTakesTwo

Jesus Christ, there was absolutely no need for that at all. Strictly's a fun show and the trial by media is just disgraceful. Private lives should remain private. That was incredibly awkward and unnecessary. #ItTakesTwo

Rebecca Humphries, meanwhile, has been liking tweets from people wondering why Sean(n) hasn’t publicly apologised to her in particular.
Saturday night is going to be eventful, anyway…
