A Documentary About Adnan Syed From ‘Serial’ Is Coming And It Looks Intense
Are you sick of true-crime documentaries yet? Because we're definitely not.
For lots of people, Sarah Koenig’s true-crime podcast Serial was the first to set off a true-crime story addiction.
The 2014 podcast followed the case against Adnan Syed, who has been behind bars since 2000 for the kidnapping and murder of his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee.
After the release of the podcast, Adnan’s case blew up, leading people to question whether or not he was truly guilty. Thousands of people have voiced their support him, resulting in a new trial being granted. Despite this, Adnan still remains in prison as prosecutors are appealing the decision.
If, like us, you were left with questions after the podcast finished, you’ll be happy to know that HBO just dropped the trailer for their new documentary series, The Case Against Adnan Syed.
HBO says the docuseries re-examines the events leading up to Hae Min Lee’s disappearance, from high school romance, forbidden love and cultural conflict, to the aftermath of her disappearance, the original police investigation and the present day, when Adnan awaits a new trial.
There’s been no release date announced yet, but the drama is far from over.
