The Crown Season 3 Is Coming In November – Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Olivia Colman as the Queen, guys!

Somehow, we’re almost halfway through August already. How’d that happen? Soon we’ll be putting the heat on and spending the events curled up under a blanket, watching telly.

But let’s not get too down in the dumps about it, because we’ll have the third season of The Crown to keep us company.

The new season of the Netflix drama drops in full on Sunday November 17, and will see a changing of the guard, with a whole new cast portraying the royals in their later years.

Olivia Colman takes over from Claire Foy as QEII, with Game of Thrones actor Tobias Menzies replacing Matt Smith as Prince Philip.

The older Princess Margaret will be played by Helena Bonham Carter, while Ben Daniels will portray her (ultimately ex) husband, Lord Snowdon.

We’ll also be seeing younger versions of Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles (née Shand) and Princess Anne – and there are rumours that Gillian Anderson will be showing up as Margaret Thatcher. Oh boy.

The third season takes place over a 13 year period between 1964 and 1977, and may cover such events as Winston Churchill’s funeral, the breakdown of Princess Margaret’s marriage, and the meeting of Charles and Camilla.

There’s no trailer as of yet – all we have is this snippet of Olivia Colman dressed as Queen Elizabeth, glancing worriedly out of a doorway:

Are you excited for more of The Crown?
