Winnie Harlow Is Defending Herself After Claims That She Was Complaining About Flying Economy
She kind of put her foot in it
Jamaican/Canadian supermodel and campaigner Winnie Harlow is taking to social media to hit back at claims that she was complaining about flying economy.
Now, we’re not saying that she was complaining about having to fly economy, but she kind of was complaining about having to fly economy *shrugs*.
But, before we go judging, lets hear her out. The fashion model has been tirelessly working for the likes of Prada and Tommy Hilfiger during fashion month and almost missed an important work commitment due to a cancelled flight.
Sharing a picture of herself and her hairstylist sleeping on a plane she explained how kind airport staff managed to squeeze her onto a last minute flight so that she could make the show. However it meant that she had to fly economy rather than her usual business class, which she wasn’t exactly thrilled about.
Well, Neither are we Winnie, to be fair.
“I haven’t slept in 4 days, and my flight got cancelled.” She wrote.
Continuing she said:
”The amazing airport escort got my team and I put on the fastest flight out but we had to give up our business class seats in order to land in time for a huge shoot at 6am. I realise this may not seem like a big deal to some, but when a plane is your bedroom and a flight the only time to get sleep during a hectic fashion month, it’s tiresome.”
The post received a lot of negative comments, with most people pointing out the fact that flying economy is a reality for the vast majority of people.
However, Winnie is now defending herself. Sharing a screenshot of an article on mailonline, the supermodel gave a further explanation on the post, stating that she is, in face, grateful and proud to fly economy.
“If I can post pictures in business class and be proud, I can also take pictures in coach and be proud. Proud that making it to work is more important to me than how I got there. That is the message. Like I said, ‘the grind never stops.’ Put that in your headline.”
Was she complaining, was she not? It’s all still a bit of a mystery tbh.
