Did Prince Harry Land Meghan Markle A Voiceover Job With Disney In This Video?
He was overheard pitching Meghan's skills to Disney boss Bob Iger back in July.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have only recently announced their intentions to step down as ‘senior’ members of the royal family, but Harry has long been putting in the graft to get his wife a job.
Last week, The Times reported that that Meghan had signed a deal with Disney to do some voiceover work in exchange for a donation to the wildlife charity Elephants Without Borders.
Well, it seems that the moment Meghan landed this job was actually captured on video… way back at The Lion King premiere in July.
While we were distracted by the Duchess meeting Beyoncé and Jay Z, Harry was actually canvassing Disney boss Bob Iger in the background.
“You know she does voiceovers?” the Prince says to Iger. “Did you know that? You seemed surprised, but yeah, she’s really interested.”
“Sure… we’d love to try,” replies the big boss.
Some royal watchers reckon this is further evidence that Harry and Meghan have been planning their royal exit and figuring out how they’ll become ‘financially independent’ for quite some time now.
On Monday, the Queen officially approved their decision to step down in a statement that read:
My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full time working members of the royal family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life while remaining a valued part of my family.
Disney first, what next? Please Meghan, we need you to launch your Goop-esque lifestyle brand immediately.
