Phillip Schofield’s famous friends are paying tribute to him after his brave announcement earlier this morning.
The TV presenter came out as gay today in a heartfelt statement to This Morning viewers, saying that with the support of his wife and daughters, he finally felt ready to embrace his sexuality.
His fellow presenters Holly Willoughby, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have all commended him for speaking his truth, as have his Dancing On Ice castmates John Barrowman and Ian Watkins.
“So proud of you and your family Phillip,” wrote John. “Welcome to your truth and authentic self. The nation loves you for who you are!”
Ian, meanwhile, said: “Bravo Phillip for your honesty… Coming out is difficult but your family, friends and fans will be proud of you being your authentic self. Welcome officially to our beautiful rainbow family! We and our allies will keep you safe.”

David Walliams, Dermot O’Leary, and Dawn French have all joined in sending their best wishes to Phil today:
I am sending all my love to @Schofe today. I have always held him in the highest regard, ans now have nothing but respect and admiration for him. Let’s hope we are moving towards a world where no-one has to come out anymore, they can just be who they are and celebrate that.

Aw. This is lovely. Great pals, all around.
Matthew Perry has joined Instagram! Now all six Friends are here.
He didn’t quite make the splash that Jennifer Aniston did when she joined the platform last year, but everyone’s still very happy to see him, including Lisa Kudrow:
Yep, his handle is @mattyperry4. Because even the super-famous can’t get their actual names sometimes.
“Yay Matty! Could you TAKE any longer?” comments Jen Aniston, while Courteney Cox says: “Yes Matty!”
Matthew hasn’t actually posted anything yet, unforch, but we’re sure his content will be top notch.
Guys, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr have now been together for TWENTY YEARS. Love is alive!
Earlier this week, SMG recalled that her first date with Freddie happened in 2000, when a mutual friend stood them up for dinner.
“That friend missed her flight, but we decided to still meet and catch up. Now 20 years later, 17 plus married and two kids, we still go to that restaurant for dinner,” she said.
WEEP. These two. Keeping the dream of the 2000s alive.
And now it’s time for… #FBF
The best celebrity throwback photos of the week.
Speaking of the dream of the 2000s, here’s a photo of Christina Aguilera during her Dirrty days, trying on a pair of her now infamous assless chaps. Not an eyebrow to be seen on her either! What a time that was.
