Meet Starface, The Brand That’s Turned Covering Up Your Spots Into An Artform
Pimp those pimples
What’s the first thing you do when you feel a new spot bubbling away under your skin?
Like many others, reaching for the spot cream and concealer is our natural reaction to hiding those pesky blemishes, but one brand is changing all of that, by turning your spots into… art?
Yes, step away from the Sudocrem, Susan. Because Starface, a relatively new skincare brand has created gorgeous little pimple patches, to both treat and glam-up our spots.
The refreshing new skincare brand has become a cult favourite in the US (Think Mario Badescu or Glossier), and are being praised around the world for the pro-active way they view spots and acne treatment.
For all the skincare nerds out there, the tiny hydro-stars are actually hydrocolloid pimple-patches. They work by absorbing fluid while simultaneously protecting the area from bacteria entering.
So, the idea is that you can pop a patch on in the night or day, go about your business for as long as you please while the sticker works it’s magic on your skin.
The brand was launched by American beauty-writer Julie Scott, who says that her aim with the line was to reverse the stigmatisation of spots by traditional skincare companies who are ‘looking to capitalise on insecurities’.
While we absolutely adore this innovative thinking, the bad news is that Starface isn’t yet available to buy in Ireland. But! It has become availble to the UK market in recent weeks, meaning that it’s only a matter of time before it lands here too.
Hurrah!
