Another reason to love Gaga.

You’ve got to love the celebs for giving us a bit of entertainment during isolation, whether you’re literally lolling or eye-rolling, they’re giving us all something to talk about other than, well, you know, the whole pandemic that’s going on right now. From Kim K “looking at apps” to Matt Damon sporting a gorge Super Valu bag, groundbreaking stuff. But fear not, there’s at least one celeb out there who’s actually acknowledging their privilege of being a celeb during isolation. Enter, Lady Gaga.
Last month, fans were just a tad skeptical when Lady Gaga announced that she was delaying the release of her next studio album, Chromatica, as she wanted to ‘spend time focusing on finding solutions’ to the coronavirus pandemic. As you would be, but the good news is that Lady Gaga has stuck to her word.
In the statement which announced the postponement of Chromatica, her upcoming album, Lady Gaga wrote: ‘This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.”

“Instead I prefer that we spend time focusing on finding solutions,” she continued. “It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic.”
Since then, she’s revealed that she has already raised over £28.5million for the World Health Organisation, fair play to her. Plus, she’s organised a TV special which includes Billie Eilish, Chris Martin, Lizzo and, well, David Beckham (not that we’re complaining) and a few other famous faces.
And while it’s a bit obvious that most celebs are a bit out of touch when it comes to being relatable, Gaga has at least acknowledged that her experience is very different. Speaking to Jimmy Fallon, she said “You know, this messaging of we’re all in this together, and while I think the sentiment is nice, I also think that the fight I’m in – and the fight you’re in, right? – is very different than the fight of a woman that is perhaps in an abusive relationship and has a child and lost her job, and can’t feed her kid and can’t feed herself.”
Ugh, you’ve got to love her.
