Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Warned LA Isn’t The Right Place For Them To Live
The pair left their senior royal titles in January.
A former royal protection officer is urging Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to think long and hard about settling in Los Angeles.
The royal pair stepped down from their duties and titles in January this year, opting for a quieter life, out of the spotlight and away from the royal press frenzy in London.
However, with the media damaging the pair’s relationship, a former protection officer believes LA isn’t the place to go. Simon Morgan spoke to US Weekly explaining why Harry and Meghan won’t get the privacy or security they desire in Los Angeles.
“The more you withdraw, the more people want to know what you’re up to. There just becomes that fascination.”
Continuing, Simon revealed that as the pair begin to work and move again, all eyes will be on them because they’re still “Harry and Meghan.”
“Harry, you know, he is still a senior member of the British Royal family. Both in terms of … bloodline and position, or maybe not entitled at the moment. So therefore there is still a fascination around that, certainly with the [former] duchess, you know. If she does go back to work in that particular sector, then there will always be an interest in what she’s doing, because it would be part and parcel of the very nature of what she’s doing.”
Coming from a place where they had a “secure environment” with a “kind of a regular routine and a footprint,” Simon is worried the pair will find it hard to adapt to the “constant” nature of Los Angeles and the unfamiliar territory for them, setting up as a family for the first time.
“The whole nature of that kind of environment is 24/7. It’s constant, you know? So I think, yeah — from a protection perspective, you know, it’s not an ideal choice,” the former officer added.
It is believed that Prince Harry found it challenging to overcome all the “obstacles” with moving to California. Having set up base in March, the pair left Canada earlier that month, making the move to the US.
