This Is Why You Never Saw Justin Hartley On Selling Sunset

All the deets on the Netflix hit we're all addicted to!

Selling Sunset has reignited our Hills passion for LA lights, cat fights and a snoop inside how the other half lives.

Yep, like many, we’ve been hooked to the show over lockdown, questioning some pricey sales, betting on who will be next to close a million dollar deal, wondering how TF the ladies of the Oppenheim Group spend their days walking around in skyscraper heels and lastly, waiting to see what catfight Christine Quinn will ignite next!

Selling Sunset is certainly drama-filled, real estate goals and everything about the show has us craving season three like, RN.

With a wait until August for the next season to drop, we already know that the show will focus on the selling of Hillside, a whopper €44 million dollar mansion that aired on both season one and two, Christine’s swanky wedding and lastly, Chrishell Stause’s split with Justin Hartley.

After two year’s of marriage, the pair filed for divorce in November 2019. Explaining that it’s incredibly difficult to have her split play out on the show, Chrishell isn’t looking forward to watching it back, noting that the split “blindsided” her at the time.

“This is still new for me trying to adjust to such an uncomfortable thing but unfortunately yes, the cameras were there. I still had a month left of shooting when my personal life kind of exploded,” Chrishell told ET Canada at the time.

Filing for “irreconcilable differences”, sources close to the pair said that although they were having marriage troubles for a while, they always appeared strong and nobody, including Chrishell thought divorce would be the outcome.

So, is that why we don’t see Justin Hartley on Selling Sunset?

Although you might now think ongoing marital problems was the reason Justin never appeared on the show or attended Mary’s wedding, it was actually a contractual issue that stopped him from appearing on the hit series.

As Justin was filming This Is Us during the time Selling Sunset was also being filmed, he reportedly wasn’t allowed to feature in the Netflix hit since he was working exclusively with Amazon Prime – Netflix’s arch enemy.

The chances are Justin was actually at a lot of the events and gatherings with the prestigious Oppenheim Group, just always out of shot for contract reasons. Interesting.

Well, one thing’s for sure, we certainly won’t be seeing anymore of him now.

Now, we patiently wait for S3 to land.
