Knitwear in summer is something that the people of Ireland have been waiting to hear for decades. Because unfortunately for us, an Irish summer doesn’t exactly support our summer wardrobe goals. We can experience all four seasons in one day, so it’s only natural to start to bring in trends from other seasons in a summery way; especially now that staycations are all the rage.
We’ve seen some of our fave fashion inspos rock some bright knitwear this summer and we are on board for this trend. From cute 90s cardigans to cropped cable knit jumpers, we’ve gathered some blogger-approved knitwear that you can incorporate into your summer wardrobe.
Louise Cooney has styled some knitwear with summery skirts to keep some warmth in those pretty outfits we all want to wear.

Copy the look with this cream cardigan from & Other Stories.
The Limerick blogger was also sporting a cute green cardigan over lockdown, as one of the colours of the summer, we’re totally loving pastel green this month and this similar style to Louise’s, again from & Other Stories is right up our street.
And if longer styles are more your preference, model Kelly Horrigan’s cardigan might tick all the right boxes.
This cardigan she’s wearing is from Seenonher and is still for sale on their website. The style is very similar to Celeb Boutique and Skims.

Marianne from Smythsisters paired her chunky summer knit jumper with some white jeans for those colder summer days.
Her knit is from Pixie Market €190. Shop here.

And for a similar style from the high street, we love this Monki cropped knit.
All these items are in high demand so act fast to bag your size! The best thing about knits is that you can size up and it only makes it cosier, so there’s a plus.
Never again will we be caught shivering on a seemingly sunny day, bring along your knits and you’re all set.
