Roman Kemp got emotional on Monday morning’s Capital FM breakfast show as he returned to work following the death of the show’s producer, Joe Lyons.
Appearing on the show alongside his co-presenters Sian Welby and Sonny Jay, the trio took to the airwaves again after a week break to come to terms with the loss of their colleague.
“Last Tuesday, very suddenly, we lost one of our best friends. Our producer Joe, he was a member of the Capital Breakfast family.
“We are trying to process this all together. We wanted to share this news with you,” Roman opened by saying on air.

Continuing, Roman gave a backstory on how the pair first met, explaining that Joe was the first person who greeted him when he walked through the Capital FM doors and how he was always someone he looked to for advice and help, noting that he “taught me everything”.
“He did love his friends… his fans, he did have fans. The thing he loved most of all was doing this show, you listening.
“He was like a genius coming up with these ideas. He was driven by the reaction from you every day,” Roman continued as he began to get emotional.
Fellow Capital hosts also broke down as Roman began to speak, too sharing poignant words both on air and their social media accounts, paying particular attention to his “immense” talent and creativity.
Roman also recently made headlines following his split from girlfriend of three years Anne Sophie Flury. However, it is believed that the Capital FM host is now off the market again after a stint on celeb dating app Raya. According to reports Roman is now dating model and younger sister to Kate Moss, Lottie Moss. Neither Roman or Lottie have yet to confirm this.
