If you haven’t got around to watching We’re Here yet, you’re in for a treat.
The former contestants of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Shangela, Bob the Drag Queen and Eureka O’Hara have teamed up together to create the most infectious trio; offering love, wisdom and most of all, support to people in small towns across the United States.
In season one, the six-episode series follows the mothers of drag, as they recruit unlikely participants to take part in a one-night-only drag show in their local towns. With the exceptional guidance of Miss Bob, Shangela and Eureka, they not only ask people to challenge the way they look at the world, but they do it in a light-hearted manner, that makes for great viewing and plenty of laugh out loud moments.
The show, which has been renewed for a second season, offers the same feel good factor as Queer Eye, but with a lot more performance, glitter and moments that will have your eyes filled with happy tears.
I mean, if that doesn’t have you sold, I don’t know what will.
One thing you’ll notice throughout the show is that the mantra “confidence is key” rings true. Not only do these three queens radiate confidence themselves, but they teach everyone they meet how important self belief and love is in order to feel worthy enough to conquer every situation you find yourself in.

Sharing some advice tips with STELLAR, Shangela dished her secrets on confidence and how it’s something one must nurture.
“I always say that confidence is like a gas tank, for those of us who drive. You have to fill it up, sometimes on a daily the more that you drive it. And it’s not just a magic wand that’s waved like ‘alright, today I am, for the rest of my life, I’m confident’ – no, you know, you just have to be able to constantly look in the mirror and love everything about yourself.
“That’s what we really try to inspire in our drag children and we hope that the people who watch the show learn that too. Because maybe you could be in a space where nobody supports you, not even your family, and you feel like you don’t have any support in your community, but you can still survive, you can still thrive if you believe in yourself, if you love yourself.

“If you learn how to walk confidently through life, and honour who you are as a person, and realise that the value you have doesn’t come from other people, it comes from what you believe about yourself.
“‘Are you a good person? Are you a hard worker? Are you someone who invests in themselves and really tries hard to go out there and be a positive influence in the world?’, because if you can do that you can remain confident because you know who you are.”
I mean, we couldn’t have said it any better ourselves. Trust this queen to offer some incredible words of wisdom.
We’re Here airs Fridays at 9pm on Sky One & streaming service NOW TV and is available On Demand
