Matthew McConaughey Reveals Movie Role That Could See Him Return To Rom-Coms
Fingers and toes crossed this becomes a reality.

In 2010, Matthew McConaughey decided to break his type-casting, pulling himself out of the rom-com genre. At a time when the star continued to get bookings for movies where he played the romantic lead, Matthew was hoping to flex his acting skills in different directions and so, decided to turn down some major gigs.
As we all know, there was a time when Mr McConaughey dominated the rom-com scene with notable cheese like Failure To Launch, How To Loose A Guy In 10 Days, Fool’s Gold, and The Wedding Planner, but a change was needed, and he hasn’t looked back since.
Well, there is one role that could see him dipping a toe in the rom-com pool once more, and yep, you guessed it, it’s for a sequel to How To Loose A Guy In 10 Days.
After leaving the romantic movies behind, the 51-year-old went to star in some pretty epic films, winning his first Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club in 2013.
So, you can imagine it would take something good for him to return to the genre he put in his past.
“Possibly. I mean, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is teed up, you know, teed up for one that you could easily do a sequel. And that was a really good one. As far as romantic comedies go, that was a really good one,” Matthew revealed during a recent interview on E!’s Daily Pop.
Not confirming he would reprise the role, but certainly open to discussions around it, the Hollywood star added that it’s one of those movies that just “lasts”.
“People still love that one. I enjoyed that one quite a bit,” he confessed.
Oh yes, we do.
In other exciting Matthew McConaughey news, he has just gone and released a book. The memoir—based in-part on diaries he’s kept since age 14, is called Greenlights and available to shop now.

Spending time in “solitary confinement”, while piecing together his book, Greenlights has received some pretty impressive reviews so far, scoring a nice 4.4/5 on Goodreads.
One to add to your Santa list, potentially?
