The wait is almost over... we can sense it!

Since it was announced back in July of last year, we’ve been itching to get our hands on the first look at the Gossip Girl reboot.
Finally, the sneak peek we’ve been waiting for is here! This week, filming for the iconic show went underway in New York, and new photographs of the cast and set have emerged – and it’s even better than we imagined!
Perching on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, the new cast members can be seen wearing school uniforms (well, we say uniforms, but they’re more like the kind of uniforms that American’s imagine people in the Europe wear), it seems as though the Constance Billard School for Girls and the St. Jude’s School for Boys have joined forces for once.
We are saying YES to the Gossip Girl reboot, YES to the king Eric Daman being back at it on the Upper East Side, YES TO LIFE!!!! pic.twitter.com/JXs2ctNOG5

Although it’s not a huuuge insight into the new show, it is enough to give us even the tiniest indication of what we can expect from the reboot.
Actress Jordan Alexander seems to taking on the role of leader of the group.; filling Blake Lively/Leighton Meester’s shoes. Who exactly will be taking on the main boy character is still a little unknown, however in other released pictures, actor Eli Brown has his arms around Jordan’s character, so that might be a good indication of what we can expect to see there – hitting us with the romance plot lines already, we cannot.
Of course, as expected, the internet soon went crazy once the pictures were released, with mega-fans from far and wide taking to Twitter to share their excitement.

As for when we can expect the show to be on our screens, we may have to wait a little longer than originally planned, as filming has of course been delayed due to the pandemic. The delay was announced earlier this year, and we were told that we can now expect a 2021 release date.
In the meantime, we’ll just be obsessing over these pictures.
