And so, another awards show is done and dusted for this year, as we near the end.
Like most of the awards shows that have gone ahead in the past couple of months, albeit different to years previous, we’re just thankful to see them continue to take place in some capacity. Offering us a night of red carpet watching, with some incredible performances and class act acknowledgments, last night was no different in providing us with all the elements that make for a good show.
The music, like always, being the one that stole the show, here are some performances worth watching back.
Justin Bieber’s opening medley
Justin Bieber is back with a serious host of live performances and we love to see it. Last night, he opened the awards’ show. Kicking off his set with new track Lonely, which then transitioned into Holy with a selection of dancers, before then being joined by Shawn Mendes to celebrate their new single, released last Friday – the pair performed Monster.

Jennifer Lopez and Maluma perform two steamy tracks
I mean, if J-Lo is performing at any awards show, ever, you know she’s going to be on the list of best performances. This woman knows how to put on a show, and last night she once again proved just that.
Performing tracks written for upcoming rom-com, Marry Me, the pair performed Pa’ Ti and Lonely.

Megan Thee Stallion performs for the first time ever at the AMAs
She was nominated for five awards last night, and also took to the stage for the first time ever at the awards show, putting on a performance nobody will forget any time soon.
Megan Thee Stallion performed her new track Body last night, giving some wise words as she got lowered on to the stage for her performance, the 25-year-old said:
“I love my body, every curve, every inch, every dimple is a declaration on my temple. My body is mine and nobody owns it but me.
You may not think my body is perfect and it probably never will be, but when I look in the mirror I love what I see.”

Other performances we’re also still in awe over last night include Katy Perry, BTS and Dua Lipa who too, lit up the stage. Overall, it was some awards show, and certainly has got us excited for all those lined up in early 2021.
