The Prince of Wales was apparently in good spirits as he stepped out to visit a London Covid-19 vaccine clinic after his son’s bombshell Oprah interview – which aired in Ireland and the UK on Monday night.
In his first appearance following the interview which looked at everything from why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle felt the need to leave the royal family to now, their relationship with the “institution”, Charles was unsurprisingly questioned about his thoughts, with reporters asking him for reaction.
But, again, unsurprisingly, it was no comment as “he chuckled and carried on walking,” tweeted The Daily Express’ Richard Palmer.

During the interview, Prince Charles was brought up a handful of times by Harry.
Explaining that the pair’s relationship is strained and there was a period of time when his father wouldn’t answer his calls, Harry added that he feels let down, and that there’s a lot for them to work though, but he hopes they can find a way.
“I will always love him, but there is a lot of hurt that’s happened. I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try to heal that relationship. But they only know what they know,” Harry explained to Oprah.
But although Prince Charles was certainly told not to comment at any royal engagement, the royal family and the Queen did release a statement addressing the interview and issues relating to Archie’s skin tone which were brought up by Harry and Meghan during the conversation.
The statement reads:
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the statement reads.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
It has been reported by CNN that Harry and Meghan do not plan on commenting on the statement.
