This Previous Bake Off Contestant Says The Show Makes Her ‘Feel Sick’

She's certainly not a fan.

Previous contestant of The Great British Bake Off, Ruby Tandoh, has revealed that she no longer watches the Bake Off as it makes her ‘feel sick’.

Quite strong claims, but if you cast your mind back to 2013 when Ruby competed in the tent and then following the public argument she had with Paul Hollywood on Twitter you can probably understand it a little more.

Ruby was asked does she still watch the show while speaking on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail podcast,  to which she replied: “No, not at all. No, I can’t. I appreciate it as a show, I think the format is clearly compelling, but no.”

She continued, saying, “When I hear the little song, the little jingle at the start, I feel sick. I can’t have anything to do with it, I’m afraid.”

So yep, pretty brutal.

When Paul Hollywood decided to stay on the show following its move to Channel 4, while Mary Berry and hosts Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc had quit, Ruby tweeted: “ahhhhhh a peacocking manchild lingering wherever the money is, i am shocked”.

There were other Twitter exchanges between the pair, but that’s certainly one that stands out.

Discussing it now, Ruby said, “I don’t particularly lose sleep over that. I don’t think that he’s particularly hurt by that. I don’t think he’s very vulnerable to the judgment of others, so yeah, that I don’t feel too bad about.”

Well… There you have it then.
