We all know that buying a house in Ireland is NOT easy, and it’s something everyone trying to achieve this is feeling.

Influencer and makeup artist Aideen Kate has given followers an update on her own house journey and the stress that she has felt throughout.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a life update and informed followers that herself and her boyfriend David sale agreed on a house in March 2022 and were so excited.

But the story wasn’t that simple, as the process often isn’t. Aideen said that the house was in probate, meaning they couldn’t get the keys right away, and were told it would be August.

“August came around and the house still wasn’t ready, the probate wasn’t through,” she said explaining the situation continued to get “dragged out”.

She described the process as “the most stressful thing ever” and revealed that on top of the wait, their mortgage ran out and had to be renewed. They were able to get an extension on their mortgage but this was also about to run out.

“Our mortgage ran out, we couldn’t renew it because it was so close to Christmas and we ended up losing out on the house,” she shared.

Although she waited a full year and ended up without a house, she holds on to a positive attitude about the situation explaining, “sometimes things just aren’t meant to be.”

Ending the clip Aideen said that she wanted to talk about it because she knows that a lot of people are experiencing the same thing, and that she is hopeful that something better will come along in future.

Aideen and David had plans to move to Australia pre-pandemic, but this of course was interrupted when COVID-19 struck. Since then, she has started her own beauty brand True Beauty and the pair plan to stay in Ireland for now.
