Ekin Su Says Love Island Fame Changed Her Friendships

Love Island 2022 winner Ekin Su Cülcüloğlu has opened up about losing her friends after her appearance on the show.

Although the star was a fan favourite, and even won the show on votes with her boyfriend Davide, it seems that her personal relationships suffered as a result.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK she said, “I’ve lost every friend I had.”

“I don’t have any friends. I have one friend and that’s it. Unfortunately, with the fame, you see people’s true colours. People just want to be your friend because of your status, and it’s a hard industry to trust. No, I don’t actually have friends left,” she added.

Ekin-Su also hinted that people she had known for a long time might have been selling stories about her, “Selling stories is not very nice. I wouldn’t do that to someone. If they were happy, I would support them.

“Unfortunately, I had that coming out of the villa, I had to delete people out of my life. But I am happier this way. Sometimes keeping your circle small is the best, and you don’t always need friends. So long as you know who you are, that’s fine.”

She does have her boyfriend Davide for support though. The pair recently enjoyed a trip to Ibiza together and seem very much in love.

How cute are they?!

Since their appearance on the dating show Ekin said she wants to distance herself from the Love Island world, focussing on her dream of acting instead.

In an interview with Women’s health Ekin-Su said, “They always say: ‘There’s a new Love Island, there’s this, there’s that, you’ll be forgotten. But that doesn’t bother me because of who I am. I know what I’m going to do in life. And I know my dream.”
