Here’s where the controversy really began. During Ye’s Paris Fashion Week show for his brand Yeezy, he had the models sporting t-shirts that read “White Lives Matter”. This didn’t sit well with a lot of people.

One of the critics of the show was fashion editor and Vogue contributor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. Posting her thoughts on her Instagram stories Gabriella wrote in part that the t-shirts on the runway were, “incredibly irresponsible and dangerous.”

Kanye was not happy with this criticism and decided to take to his own Instagram page in retaliation. He posted pictures of Gabriella and criticised her personal style, which led to a lot of backlash.

The fashion world defends Gabriella

Gigi Hadid was one of the first household names to call out Ye after he posted the pictures of Gabriella.

In the comments of his post she wrote, “You wish u had a percentage of her intellect…You have no idea haha…. If there’s actually a point to any of your s–t. She might be the only person that could save u. As if the ‘honor’ of being invited to your show should keep someone from giving their opinion? Lol. You’re a bully and a joke.”

Hailey Bieber also shared her support for the writer as she posted on her stories saying, “My respect for you runs deep my friend!

“To know is to adore you and to work with you is an honor, the most kind. the most talented. the most fun. the most chic.”

Jaden Smith also let his thoughts be known as he walked out of the fashion show. Tweeting he said, “I Had To Dip.” And continued, “I Don’t Care Who’s It Is If I Don’t Feel The Message I’m Out…Black Lives Matter.”

Vogue also released a statement in defence of their writer, saying, “Vogue stands with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, our global fashion editor at large and longtime contributor. She was personally targeted and bullied. It is unacceptable.”

Their statement also revealed that Ye and Gabriella had a meeting to talk through the controversy, “Now more than ever, voices like hers are needed and in a private meeting with Ye today she once again spoke her truth in a way she felt best, on her terms.”

Kanye later revealed that he and Gabriella “disagreed” at their meeting but had dinner together at celebrity favourite Paris restaurant Ferdi afterwards, seeming to indicate all was well…

The Kardashian-Jenners enter the chat

As we know, Kanye was once married to Kim Kardashian and shares four young children with the reality star. The famous family are always conscious of what they say about Ye and his antics as they don’t want to speak on the father of Kim’s children. But this time, two members of the family let their feelings be known.

Kendall Jenner showed her support for longtime friend Jaden Smith leaving Kanye’s show by liking his tweets.

Kanye was not happy with the criticism he received from Gigi Hadid and Venus Williams, and decided to call them out on his Instagram. In a post claiming he did not know where his daughter’s birthday party was a few months ago, he said that people were quick to “attack” him about his “t-shirts.”

Once the family got called out, Khloe Kardashian chimed in in the comments.

She wrote, “Ye, I love you. I don’t want to do this on social media but YOU keep bringing it here. You are the father of my nieces and nephews and I’m trying to be respectful but please STOP tearing Kimberly down and using our family when you want to deflect.

“Again with the birthday narrative. Enough already. We all know the truth and in my opinion, everyone’s tired of it. You know exactly where your children are at all times and YOU wanted separate birthdays. I have seen all of the texts to prove it. And when you changed your mind and wanted to attend, you came.

“Like you have pointed out yourself, she is the one taking care of your kids 80% of the time. Please Leave her and the family out of it so that the kids can be raised peacefully. 🙏🏽 I come from a place of love and I am happy to continue this conversation privately if you wish 🤍”

In response to this, Kanye said Khloe was lying, see below:

Ye gets Justin Bieber involved

Screenshotting a headline saying Hailey and Gigi defended Gabriella Karefa Johnson, Ye involved Justin Bieber, Hailey’s husband in the drama.

“Am I cancelled again??? Justin please let me know”, he wrote.

In another post he said, “Justin get your girl before I get mad.” Justin hasn’t publicly responded to the callouts as of now.

Drake supports Kanye?

Drake and Kanye have had very public beef for years, but it seems the rapper may be supporting Ye in this instance. Posting a screenshot of Drake liking his post, Kanye wrote, “Everyone knows me and Drake have had a rivalry in the past and it really warmed my heart to see Drake like one of my post. We still need the Donda team to play NOCTA all Drake music will be played at Donda games moving forward.”

Feud over? Who knows.

This is the short run down of what has gone on over the past few days – yes, that was the SHORT version.

Kim Kardashian has yet to publicly comment on any of the drama, and we don’t expect to hear from her unless it’s in the form of a screenshotted text message Kanye may post on Instagram, as per his usual activity.

Something tells us Kim is refraining from getting involved at all…
