Laura Whitmore Reportedly Lands Role On New Dating Show After Leaving Love Island
She's back!
Laura Whitmore is returning to the world of dating reality shows, but that doesn’t mean she’s back in the Love Island Villa. Nope, Laura has landed the role of narrator on a new Amazon original dating show called, Date Night, according to The Irish Mirror.
The show will follow singletons as they use a special dating app to find love along with the help of their friends and family, who are right beside them sharing their thoughts and opinions.
The synopsis of the show says in part, “Singletons can consult with their nearest and dearest on how to craft the perfect opening message, take their advice on whether eligible suitors are up to scratch, and if they secure a ‘match’ the couples will meet for a unique date where every look, flirtatious comment, and awkward remark is filmed for their friends and family back home.”

Imagine your first date being broadcast to your family…. Awkward!
The show will play out with the narration by Laura setting the scene and we’re sure there’ll be a bit of gas commentary in there. Laura’s husband Iain Stirling is the narrator for Love Island and we can’t imagine the show without him!
Laura stepped down as host of Love Island earlier this year and has since been replaced with Maya Jama, in her statement she said, “Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love Island.
“There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.

“I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series.
She concluded: “I hope I did you proud Caroline.”
This isn’t the only television opportunity Laura is working on, in July the presenter announced her next project is called “Laura Whitmore Investigates”.
“New TV project coming soon…” she captioned the picture. Although full details of the show haven’t been revealed, we know Laura has a true crime podcast with her husband Iain Stirling and it looks like she is set to delve into the world of crime a little more.
