Molly Mae has hung up her heels as Creative Director of PrettyLittleThing.

That’s right, the 24-year-old announced yesterday during a YouTube Q&A that she had decided to step down from her very lucrative role as Creative Director so she could truly experience being a mum for the first time.

She said: “There is actually one quite big thing that I probably should talk about. I haven’t posted anything about it yet but I’m probably going to post about it when this video goes live.”

Continuing on she revealed that she’s actually stepped down from her role as Creative Director stating: “Basically a lot of people have been asking me about my PLT creative director role and how’s the role going. Everything’s going incredibly with PLT, I literally have the most insane relationship with PLT they’re literally my family. Still working with them, still doing collections, still doing edits, but I’ve actually decided to step down from my creative director role.”

The Love Island alum then went on to explain her reasoning behind stepping down from the job that boasts a six-figure salary.

She said: “I’ve realised that I’m only going to get this time once with my firstborn child. I’m only going to get Bambi being four months old once. I just feel like I have had to just rearrange my life a little bit and lose some commitments I did have.”

The role, which supposedly brought in over £5,000,000 in sales in a year, was described by Molly Mae as a a “pinch-me moment and a huge moment in my career”, she however noted that she felt that portion of her life had closed and she was focused on being the best mum she can be to Bambi.

She said: “I’m a mum now, I never really gave myself a maternity leave, I got straight back into work instantly. There were certain areas of my life I had to reevaluate. The last thing I wanted to be was in a role I can’t fulfil right now at this moment in my life.”

We love to see it!
