Nick And Joe Jonas Auditioned For The Same Role In Wicked!

Can you believe we nearly had a JoBro on our screens!

That’s right Nick and Joe Jonas are the latest celebrities to announce they auditioned for an unnamed role in the highly anticipated remake of Wicked which is due to release in November 2024.

During a recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s podcast, The Armchair Expert, the brothers revealed just how competitive they are when it comes to movie and tv roles.

However as long as someone with the last name Jonas gets the role it doesn’t bother them too much. They said: “We always say we want someone with the last name Jonas to win. That’s our goal.”

Nick then opened up revealing that both him and Joe went out for the same role in Wicked – now that would’ve been an incredible casting!

Nick didn’t mention what role they went for but we can assume it was the lead role – they are the Jonas Brothers after all – which ultimately went to Bridgerton heartthrob Jonathan Bailey.

Nick commented on their competitiveness for the role saying: “We both auditioned for the same role, Joe and I. It was for Wicked, actually. And we were going into it… and naturally, we’re brothers, we’re competitive in sports and other things, but when it comes to our career, I think we genuinely both looked at each other like…”

Joe jumped in to say: “Yeah, we said, ‘Go in there and kill it ’cause it’s gotta be one of us. It has to be one of us.’”

He hilariously added: “That being said, never got that call…”

In an interview with Variety Nick revealed he thought the role would be fun to play but knows Jonathan Bailey will do a great job.

I’m a huge fan of the show, and that’s a role I always thought it would be fun to play. But I think Jonathan is going to do a great job, and I’m sure the movie is going to be great.”

We can’t wait to get a look at the brand new Wicked movie which will be in cinemas November 2024.
