Trend Forecast: Could This Be The Hair Accessory Of The Summer?

Here at STELLAR, we are constantly scrolling social media, keeping up with our fave celebs, and watching out for the latest trends to keep you lot updated on what’s hot and what’s about to be.

Something we love to do is catch a trend on the rise, let you guys know about it, and watch as it takes over the fashion world for a season or a festival season. Last year, we noted the gem in the hair trend for festival season after seeing a few celebs sport it and it lasted way longer than that.

Now, we have a new trend alert for you to keep your eye on, and maybe get your hands on before they hit the mainstream trend cycle. Tiny bows are what’s hot this summer, watch this space.

Of course, we didn’t pluck this from thin air, trend setting queen Hailey Bieber wore some tiny ribbons in one of her recent Instagram pictures and as we know, whatever Hailey does, the girlies follow.

Ribbons in the hair had their moment back in 2013 when Ariana Grande was making her way into the music world, her ribbon in the music video of The Way had the schoolgirls of the time in a chokehold. Hi, I am said, schoolgirl. Half-up-half-down or high-pony hairstyles were not complete without a ribbon tied in a bow at the bobbin (low-ponies had not had their moment yet).

After that, the ribbons were given a rest for a while, making a notable comeback in the form of a very large bow on the back of the head in the last few years. Ariana Grande again has been seen sporting this look, as well as many other celebs and it also made waves for brides on their big day.

Now, the 2023 bow is teeny tiny. These adorable little additions can be worn with many a hairstyle to add a bit of cuteness, even just scattered around hair that is down like the gems from the bedazzler machine are often styled.

Hailey wore hers over two little bunches on the side of her head with her bob and it looks adorably high fashion. I think these will be huge for festivals such as Coachella and birthday outfits with cute pastel dresses.

Now, you can make this accessory yourself by just buying a roll of ribbon and cutting it to your preferred size or you can get some clips with a ready-made bow for easy application.
