Why Did Vanessa Villela Leave Selling Sunset After Two Seasons?
Vanessa is taking her career into her own hands!
Selling Sunset season six is coming to Netflix in the next few days and there’s a noticeable name missing from the cast credits, Vanessa Villela.
Turns out Vanessa is returning to The Oppenheim Group’s rival brokerage, The Agency, headed up by real estate tycoon Mauricio Umansky.
Vanessa spent two years with The Oppenheim Group, but is now ready to take control of her own career.
She told People: “I am super excited to be back at The Agency. It’s where my career started so it feels extremely good to be back. It feels like home.”
Adding: “I am surrounded by incredible top agents β successful and collaborative people who work like a family. I know that I’m in the right place.”

By switching agencies it gives Vanessa a chance to focus on her goals off camera. She mentions she always felt like “the new girl in school,” saying: “They’re obviously super successful and it’s an incredible show, but I have to make my own life and make my dreams come true.”
She mentioned how coming back to Mauricio’s agency “felt right” and that she “always missed them”. Continuing on she said: “I feel in my heart it’s where I belong.”

While many would consider this to be a controversial move for the 45-year-old, it seems there are no hard feelings and it was a “mutual decision” between her, Β The Oppenheim Group and the cast and crew of Selling Sunset.
Vanessa says she holds her relationships with two of the Selling Sunset girls close, Maya Vander and Christine Quinn.
She says: “I love Maya so much, we stay in touch a lot. I also message here and there with Christine as well. She’s not in this season either, but she’s an incredible person and really nice to me. The rest are super nice, but we are not in contact right now.”

Understandably, she didn’t get on with everybody on the show but that’s just life as she says: “Obviously you get along really well with some and don’t click as well with others, and that’s the show.”
It’s been a very busy few months for Vanessa between getting married and moving agencies, but it doesn’t seem to have stopped her. If anything, it has spurred her on to prove herself. She’s even managed to secure a $25 million listing alongside one of the top agents in the country, Santiago Arana.
When People asked her what her secret to success is she replied: “I want people to believe in their dreams because they do come true if you believe in yourself.”
