Behind The Scenes With Model Maria Boardman

Maria Boardman is one of Ireland's most in-demand models - we got the inside scoop on her beauty regimen, and where she goes to get her Pilates fix.

Maria Boardman is a model with 1st Option Models. From Co Westmeath, Maria has been modelling for four years – you may have seen her as the face of Lennon/Courtney or on catwalks for Brown Thomas and Arnotts.

I exfoliate twice a week using these scrubs I got in China. I basically went in and took everything they have for making you look more beautiful. There’s this thing Yomiko [Chen, a fellow model] recommended; from this place called Watson’s in China, called H2O something, like a watery mask. I pretty much cleanse, tone and moisturise.

I love Jan Marini, a French brand. Then, I go to The Monkstown Laser Clinic for glycolic peels, just every now and then. I wouldn’t do them all the time, but for skin emergencies it’ll totally rejuvenate your face. La Roche Posay is brilliant as well.

I don’t work out a huge amount but I did recently start going to Form School and it’s such a nice place to be. Even if you’ve never done pilates before, you feel so great coming out of it. It’s all low lighting, you can sit and have a chat beforehand … It’s lovely. And there are healthy treats and drinks. They have this nut butter, a mixed nut and seed butter with chocolate chips, it is amazing. It’s the perfect post-workout treat!
