Bermuda Shorts Aren’t Just For Dad’s Anymore, They’re This Season’s Hottest Trend
Hot Dad summer?
Dad jeans, dad trainers, dad fleeces, we’ve all been taking style notes from the older men in our lives recently, and it looks like the summer of 2020 isn’t set to be any different.
Our Instagram grids have been awash with cool Dane girls in oversized blazers and ugly runners for most of winter, and now there is a father-figure inspired fashion piece that will help us to keep both cool and stylish in the (slightly) warmer months.
Now entering into the realm of the ‘dad short’, the 90s trend seems to be making a comeback via the coolest of cool models, editors, and influencers, and while at first we were horrified at the sight of a short that goes to your knee, we most definitely are warming to it and in fact, are even beginning to list it as a summer style staple.
Characterised by their knee-length, often oversized silhouette, finding a pair that hits the knee at the right spot and tapers in at the waist is the key to keeping yourself from looking like a literal dad (no offense, Dads). Styling them up with a super feminine crop top or tucked in blouse can create the perfect amount of juxtaposition while playing around with different textures and prints can help to elevate your look too.
So, to get you started on your paternal style journey, here are a few dad shorts that we’re really diggin’ (that’s what Dad’s say, isn’t it?!).
