Cast your mind back to the late ’90s.

Destiny’s Child were still a thing, stripey socks and mesh tops were all the rage, and the tragic loss of the Irish punt was just around the corner.

Glitter hairspray was also having its moment. So was glitter-everything, really. Glitter hair gel, glitter mascara, glitter body wash… Sparkles were all over the place, and as a child of 8 or 9 who didn’t harbour an understanding of the environment yet, I was all about it.

Give me a bottle of that stuff (Claire’s finest) and I’d have crunchy locks for days on end. There’d be glitter on my scalp, glitter on my bed sheets, glitter all over my clothes, and not a whole lot of it actually in my hair, but that was okay.

And now, it appears as though glitter hairspray (like everything else) is making a comeback.

Gone are the days of your slicked back bun being held together with regular ol’ products. It’s far from muted we were raised and when it comes to embellishing, us ’90s kids are going to milk all that glitters until we can’t anymore.

But where do you even buy glitter hairspray these days? we hear you cry. As it turns out, Zara have just launched their own holiday hair gift set – complete with gorgeous Give Me Glitter Hair Makeup Spray, and Give Me Gold Hair Makeup Gel.

Or, if you fancy nabbing a bottle on its own, you can always find one on Amazon. Obsessed.

If you’re not in the market for spraying glitter all over your entire head (why wouldn’t you be, tho?), you can always rely on some old reliable biodegradable glitter too.

So, is it time for hair gems to make a comeback yet, or?
