Whatever your opinion of Emerald Fennell’s new Wuthering Heights adaptation is, we all have to admit that it has more than likely sparked a new “no makeup” makeup trend, one with an 18th century twist. Fresh looking skin, and emphasis on rosy blush and natural eyebrows.

One of the most important things to consider when trying to look like the heroine of a gothic romance novel is your skin. Like any natural makeup look, prioritising skincare first is a great idea. Skin that looks more alive and fresh will always serve as the best base, especially when you’re going for a more minimal look like this one. So make sure you’re cleansing in a way that suits your skin type, and staying moisturised.

We recommend you choose a lighter coverage concealer or BB cream instead of a foundation on the heavier side – a perfect shout for achieving that fresh glowy look without going overboard.
