There are fashionistas, there are style icons and then there is Florence Pugh. She is the ultimate style queen and I will defend that opinion until my dying breath. Body confident, outspoken and unapologetically honest, I think we all need a little bit of Florence Pugh in our lives. In recent month’s she’s been gracing our Insta feeds with iconic looks that turn heads and have fashion editors biting at the bit to get their hands on her clothes. She does have a bit of help, working with the renown stylist Rebecca Corbin Murray, who has more stars in her client book than there are in the sky. From Salma Hayek and Lily James to Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley, no wonder Pugh looks amazing with all that style inspo around her!

Florence Pugh has been killing it recently in a collection of gorgeous sheer looks that scream ‘I AM THAT GIRL’. Sometimes sheer looks can be a little daunting to try out but we’ve picked up a lesson or two from our favourite actress that will make sure you are always confident and chic in your sheer summer fits. So, here are some sheer lessons we’ve learned from our girl Florence Pugh that will ensure you rock your next sheer fit.

Add A Pop Of Colour

What’s life without a pop of colour? With all the colours of the rainbow it’s startling to see how many people end up wearing beige and black for most of their lives. Whilst we all love an LBD (little black dress), make sure you’re not hiding away and embrace some colour in your wardrobe. If you’re only starting out wearing sheer, sometimes bright colours can help you feel a little more covered up until you’re comfortable enough to be a bit more daring. Take it at your own pace and experiment to find what colours and level of sheer work for you.

Create Intrigue With Asymmetrical Lines

Just because you’re wearing a sheer dress, doesn’t mean that you need to show off everything. An asymmetrical strip of sheer fabric in a dress can be the first step when experimenting with sheer pieces. A mix of fabrics, textures and cuts can allow you to create an interesting look while allowing you to be as sheer or as covered as you like. Take a leaf out of Florence Pugh’s book and use asymmetry to create an eye-catching sheer look.

Nude Doesn’t Always Mean Nude

Repeat after me … nude doesn’t have to be boring! And it doesn’t mean you have to wear a dress that is completely one shade. Spice up your sheer nude fit with a pattern or embroidery designs like Florence Pugh when she wore a matching Valentino top and skirt whilst on a night out during Paris Fashion Week in October. Utilise patterns, gems and accessories to give a sheer nude fit some extra bad-ass energy and embrace sheer like never before.

Volume, Volume, Volume

More fabric, more texture, more drama. We all saw Pugh’s stunning dress at the premiere of Don’t Worry Darling at the Venice Film Festival. Full of flowing fabric that took up the space it deserves on the red carpet. Pugh exuded confidence in the voluminous dress and embraced the drama of the night with reams of fabric. Follow Pugh’s lead by incorporating volumes of fabric into your sheer outfit. Create drama and take up the space that you deserve.

Embrace Sheer, Embrace Your Body, Embrace You

Finally, if we learn anything from Florence Pugh’s style, is that in order to embrace fashion, we must first embrace ourselves. Stand firm in who you are and love the body you were born into. After all, it’s the only one we’ve got so why on earth would we waste our days hiding it? Love the skin you’re in and embrace your body with sheer trends. Embrace colour, embrace your body, embrace you.
