Is Boho-Chic Back? – According to Fashion House Chloé It Is

Toe ring, anyone?

Could it be time to dust off our old wedges and maxi skirts? Well according to Chloé’s Paris Fashion Week show it is!

Many have been wondering when the hippie-adjacent style would make a comeback, but we didn’t think it would be this soon. The style was popular in the early noughties with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and Kate Moss often giving us some inspo.

It was Chemena Kamali’s debut collection as creative director of the fashion house, and she did not disappoint. With her array of lace, ruffles, wedges, and statement jewellery Vogue Runway has confirmed that boho chic is back.

The German born designer told Vogue, “I wanted a fresh start in terms of lightness, movement, flou, strong proportion play, great outerwear pieces – timeless and iconic wardrobe pieces which are recognisably Chloé.”

With Y2K dominating the runway and our wardrobes for the past couple of years now, we’re ready for something a little different and are happy to say goodbye to everything low waist.

Kamali referred to Karl Lagerfeld’s Chloé collections from the 1970s, which she described had “effortless femininity,” and it is clear she took this on board with the new collection giving us all the feminine and vintage vibes.

But how do you master boho chic style? Well, accessorise, accessorise, accessorise. The best part about boho chic is you can have fun with it. Mix patterns, layer your look, and don’t worry about anything looking perfect. Embrace your inner Serena Van Der Woodsen whose most iconic looks were always boho glamourous.

Another great way to hop on the trend is by shopping vintage – keeping your look unique and sustainable!

Here are some of our favourite high street picks to achieve the boho chic look.

ASOS design smock dress – €43

Mango blouse with tassel

Urban Outfitters asymmetrical skirt – €55

Zara crochet knit dress

H&M cotton dress – €27.99

If you would prefer to keep this trend in 2005 you are not alone, but it’s looking likely to only get bigger with festival season bound to fly around, boho chic will be seen everywhere. Chemena Kamali may have done it first, but we don’t think it will be the last of boho chic seen on the runway.

If you see us wearing toe rings – don’t judge.
