Kate Middleton’s Favourite Designer Has Apologised After Criticising Meghan Markle’s Wedding Dress
This could get awkward...
After slamming Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, designer Emilia Wickstead has backtracked her her comments about it being a rip-off of her designs.
And it wasn’t just the similarity to her designs that she spoke out about. The designer, who is a favourite of Kate Middleton, also made comments about how the dress was “quite loose”.
As if that wasn’t enough, according to the Daily Mail, Wickstead criticised Meghan’s hair on her big day: “Hold the wisps back. It’s a royal wedding for God’s sake.”
Understandably, people were not impressed by the designers remarks. The Instagram account Diet Prada posted photos of Givenchy dresses throughout history which had similar details to Meghan’s dress, saying Wickstead got “her knickers in a twist” with claims of a rip off.
Now Wickstead has released a statement at how “extremely saddened” she is about the reports, and stated that Meghan “looked absolutely beautiful on her wedding day.”
People in the comment section of her post weren’t really buying the apology, however.
