Colourful mascara isn’t a new makeup product by any means. But it has been given a new lease of life in 2024.

New bright and beautiful mascaras have flooded the market. Pinks and greens and blues may look intimidating in the package, and you might be tempted run back to your trusty black mascara, but you can really elevate your makeup look by making this simple swap.

How to wear colourful mascara

Like all things makeup, it’s just for fun. So you can wear whatever colour in whatever way you want. You can use it to elevate a dramatic eye look. Or you can just wear the mascara and forego eyeshadow so it subtly adds some colour to your look. We recommend that you match your mascara to your eye colour, so you can enhance your already gorgeous natural features!

For blue eyes…

To get your perfect match, we’ll be dipping into colour theory. On the colour wheel, red is directly across from blue. Okay, red mascara is not something that you can come by easily. So you can try a berry mascara or a burgundy mascara. If red is a bit too intense for you, you can ease yourself into it with a brown mascara which is still neutral but definitely not as harsh as a black mascara.

It will highlight the flecks of emerald in your súile! Purple or burgundy mascara will also be a big hit so we can see more behind those hazel eyes.
