You knew this was coming, there can’t be a major red-carpet event without a rundown of our favourite looks of the night, it’s all part of the fun!

From an old Hollywood iconic dress returning to the spotlight, to a red-carpet dress reveal in true Met Gala fashion, we cannot wait to delve into these looks with you…

Let’s start with the theme, seen as a part 2 to last year’s ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’, this time around it’s ‘In American: An Anthology of Fashion’. The dress code that has been released for the gala is ‘gilded glamour, white tie’. Whether this theme was followed to a T or respectfully ignored, what we saw on the carpet gave either Bridgerton chic of sexy figure-hugging numbers.

Kim Kardashian

The gown we were all waiting for was that of Kim Kardashian, we had heard rumours that she was hoping to wear Marilyn Monroe’s iconic Happy Birthday Mr. President dress so the anticipation as to whether she would show up in it was like no other, and that she did! The dress was made to fit Marilyn so Kim had to alter herself to fit the gown, previously saying if she didn’t fit the dress she wasn’t going to attend.

Kim also walked the carpet with her boyfriend Pete Davidson and they were so cute! They even took part in a little PDA moment, not as much as we are used to from her sister Kourtney and Travis Barker but just enough to be our new fave celeb couple.

Kendall Jenner

A totally different style dress to last year’s look, but just as gorge. Kendall wore a sheer black Prada top paired with a full ballgown skirt, complete with bleached eyebrows and the return of her signature dark hair after she had it red for a minute.

Kendall always slays the Met and this year was no different!

Hailey Bieber

She just HAD to be on the list. Hailey Bieber can do no wrong when it comes to fashion, the star sported a white Saint Laurent gown with a matching white feathered coat, giving very much old Hollywood meets modern Hailey style icon era.

Emma Chamberlain

Modern day Bridgerton and we are here for it! Emma totally nailed the red carpet in custom Louis Vuitton and Cartier Jewellery and we kind of want to wear this outfit ourselves?

This was Emma’s second Met Gala and she had previously opened up about being more open to attending these big red-carpet events after avoiding them before, you belong there Emma and we adore seeing your outfits!

Kris Jenner

We love that this is something new for Kris, who usually sticks to variations of black blazers. The gown is also an old Hollywood vibe, we saw someone online compare it to Julie Andrews character in Princess Diaries, and they’re not wrong! The dress was Oscar De La Renta and Kris said she was going for a Jackie Kennedy look.

This was the first year all five of her daughters were in attendance at the event and it truly was a moment!

Blake Lively

Blake is the queen of the Met, every time she goes, she wins and that is exactly why she was the perfect co-chair for this year.

The actress arrived with her husband Ryan Reynolds, who was also a co-chair on the evening. Blake also had a dress transformation moment in the middle of the carpet, which is what The Met is all about, we want drama!

The custom Atelier Versace dress began as a fitted gown with mirrored detailing and a big draped bow at the waist. But it later revealed a long aqua skirt which flowed seamlessly down the stairs.

Her look was a nod to the Statue Of Liberty, but make it fashion.

Sebastian Stan

Sebastian Stan rocked this all pink Valentino ensemble and made it look effortlessly cool, even though it was A LOT to look at. Now that is what you call swagger.

He understood the assignment. The Gossip Girl reboot star wore this pretty fabulous look, which seems like it could be paired beside Emma Chamberlain’s to form the PERFECT couple outfit (Role Model where you at?). The look is by the brand Head of State, a brand founded by Gen Z Taofeek Abijako who wants to create clothes that get people talking. Well, everyone should be talking about this one.
