Skincare Junkie: The Fancy Serum That Will Seriously Revive Your Skin

Starting to notice signs of the ageing process on your skin? Or are you one of those five hour sleep gals who struggles to wake their skin up after a rough night? If so, this serum will transform your skin.

People often think that you have to be thirty or older to start using anti-ageing products, but that’s definitely not the case. If you’re not worrying about wrinkles just yet, using skincare products with anti-ageing properties can help your skin look firmer and brighter, and with prolonged use will slow down the appearance of ageing.

A great way to incorporate an anti-ageing product into your skincare routine is through a serum. One of my favourites to use is the Clarins Double Serum. It’s a luxurious serum formulated to help work on the five vital functions of the skin for a more youthful and radiant complexion.

Although the serum is marketed as an anti-ageing concentrate, it has some other amazing benefits for people with youthful skin. The serum helps make the skin appear more firm, minimises your pores, helps even out skin tone and overall brightens your complexion.

I usually apply the serum in the morning if I’m not planning on wearing any makeup that day (I use some heavier, more hydrating products if I’m applying a full mask). The serum is light-weight and non-greasy, so it doesn’t sit on your skin and absorbs quickly. If I’m going for a no makeup look, the serum brightens my skin, making me look fresher and more awake (which is a godsend if you’ve had little sleep or are atrociously hungover).

The new Double Serum bottle is quite techy and allows you to adjust it to deliver a made-to-measure dosage of the serum to make sure you’re applying the correct amount. The best way to apply it is by putting the product into your fingers and pressing it into the skin, rather than rubbing as it helps the ingredients penetrate the skin deeper.

As for the price point, it might shock you, but hear me out. For a standard 50ml bottle of the Clarins Double Serum in Boots it costs €72. I know it can be hard to justify that price, but if your skin is in desperate need of a boost it’s worth it. If you’re using the fancy dispenser properly and only using how much you need a day, it lasts ages.

So pop it on your birthday/Christmas lists or just splurge and treat your skin, it deserves it!
