The Ultimate 2000’s Trend Is Back: The Velour Tracksuit
One of the most questionable, but we have to admit comfortable, trends from the early 2000's is making a comeback.
One of the most questionable, but we have to admit comfortable, trends from the early 2000’s is making a comeback… the velour tracksuit.
We never saw it coming TBH. But if Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton want a trend to come back around it will.
The latest collection from Kim’s uber successful shapewear brand Skims, is a velour tracksuit set. Slightly chicer than the ones we wore as teenagers (they don’t have the word ‘JUICY’ emblazoned across your arse for one) Kim’s range includes a slightly cropped hoodie and wide leg pants.

In a total throwback to their Simple Life days (when Kim was Paris’ assistant FYI) the pair have modelled her latest collection, and it’s seriously nostalgic. Featuring flip phones, matching handbags and of course Kim’s version of the iconic tracksuits, we feel transported back to our teenage years.
Sharing the pictures to Instagram Kim said; “Major 2000s vibes! We’re bringing back Velour and making it softer and more luxurious than ever before.”

“U guys have no idea how tracksuits were our uniform and so happy to make a skims version.”
“A year in the making, @SKIMS Velour is my most anticipated launch yet! A reinvention of the iconic 2000s trend, this luxe collection will carry you through Fall – indoors and outside.”

The collection is set to include a bandeau bra, wide leg pants, joggers, a cropped hoodie, a robe, a tank top and a pyjama top. All the pieces in the super-soft velour range will come in four colours; Smoke, Honey, Sienna and Amethyst.
It seems as though at the moment we’re heading towards a second lockdown, so perhaps some new cosy loungewear is exactly what we need to treat ourselves to right now?
Skims Velour launches on Wednesday 21st of October.
