It takes a lot of work to pull us away from our fail-safe smokey eye, but Emma Chamberlain has done it. She had us feeling adventurous and open to the idea of neon eyes after she wowed at her first Met Gala with this makeup look.

Wearing Louis Vuitton to the show and working alongside Vogue to present on the red carpet, Emma looked every inch the Hollywood YouTube success when she paired her glitzy dress with an equally show stopping metallic eye.

Wearing all products by BYREDO exclusively on her eyes, Emma’s makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan (who was also the MUA for Olivia Rodrigo on the night) explains how she created that neon moment; one which we’re going to see everywhere this autumn.

“For the pop of neon, I used Scylla from the BYREDO Eyeshadow 5 Colour Palette in Syren. To create the intense liner, I dipped the brush in a mixing liquid before the color and then swept it across the center of the upper lash line and inner corner of the eye,” Kelsey said in a statement.

For getting that darker greeney centre, Kelsey used a BYREDO colour stick to smudge across the lids. She then lined her lower lash line and waterline with black.

To intensify that green and help contrast it with the neon liner, Kelsey also used BYREDO Eyeshadow 5 Colour Palette in Sciomancer on Emma’s lids.
