Brad And Angelina’s Birthday Celebration For Their 8-Year-Old Twins Was Surprisingly, Well… Normal

No Disneyland trips or interior-designed fairytale parties here.

North West had the run of Disneyland in California for her third birthday. Blue Ivy’s fourth was a rainbow wonderland of flowers and fairy costumes.

But for Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, things aren’t quite so lavish. The twins celebrated their eight birthday this week with a morning of pancake eating and, er, grocery shopping courtesy of their parents, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The foursome were spotted out for breakfast at the Griddle Café in LA yesterday, where they ate breakfast without making any kind of celebrity fuss. So little fuss did they make in fact, that most of the waiting staff didn’t even notice who they were – and the only photo taken was on a diner’s camera phone.

“Brad and Angelina were super low-key and a bunch of the waiters there didn’t even realise it was them until they stood up to leave,” one member of staff told Us Weekly.

After eating, the group headed to a local Rite-Aid store to pick up groceries. Talk about a chilled-out birthday!

While it might seem like a pretty dull set of proceedings for two eight-year-olds, there are two things we bet Knox and Vivienne were LOVING about their big day:

1. They had mum and dad all to themselves. While the Jolie-Pitt clan are usually photographed out and about as an eight-person unit, Brad and Ange’s other kids – Shiloh, Pax, Zahara and Maddox – were nowhere to be seen.

2. They were allowed to eat aaaalll kinds of goodness for breakfast. According to staff at the Griddle, the foursome opted for chocolate-chip French toast, the café’s signature Oreo-filled Black Magic pancakes with whipped cream (Knox’s choice),  honey and cinnamon pancakes and a side of eggs. Quite a change from their usual brekkie, we reckon.
