Shop local!
Since we’re big supporters of buying Irish and all, it’s only right to shout out some of our favourite Irish-made Christmas gifts.
Here are some wonderful present ideas from Irish creators, artists, and designers.
A print from Jando
Husband and wife duo Julie and Owen McLoughlin create gorgeous, colourful prints of Irish landmarks, from the Poolbeg Towers to the Spanish Arch. A unique gift they can keep forever.
A pair of pyjamas from Moon + Mellow
This is a bit of a spendy one, but if you’re looking for something special, Moon + Mellow’s organic cotton pyjamas are it. They’re €198 a pair, and everything from the cotton to the packaging is sustainably produced. For a cheaper option, their cotton sleep masks are gorgeous too.
This excellent duo from Ella & Jo
After talking to so many clients about the importance of cleaning their makeup brushes, Mayo-based MUAs Charlene Flanagan and Niamh Ryan founded Ella & Jo Cosmetics. This set, €42, contains the brand’s two hero products: the cult Squeaky Clean Brush Cleanser and the refreshing Hyaluronic Skin Mist.
A Notions coaster from Maktus
The George’s Street Arcade shop also does Miggeldy Higgins pins, Keep Her Lit prints, and Dublin pigeon tea towels. It’s a DELIGHT, and you’ll find all sorts of stocking stuffers there.
A piece of jewellery from Juvi Designs
Silversmith Vincent Tynan and designer Julie Danz travel the world to find beautiful gemstones, returning to Dublin to design their stunning jewellery. Their latest collection, Shooting Star, is absolutely gorgeous – the Open Skies ring, €85, is bound to be a treasured piece.
A Chicken Fillet Roll Appreciation Society t-shirt from Hairy Baby
Will they wear it out of the house? Maybe not. Will they think of you as they go to sleep in it every night? Definitely.
This gorgeous bundle from Foxford Woollen Mills
A supersoft lambswool scarf and a scented candle, all for €36 – we’d nearly steal this for ourselves.
A Gas Bitch beanie from The Dirtbird
Because we all know a Gas Bitch. Artist Sarah Devereux is The Dirtbird, creator of all kinds of Irish-themed kitsch, from Nadine Coyle decorative plates to Enya tote bags. Get one for your Secret Santa immediately.
An All Is Calm set from Jane Darcy
Very few of us would say no to a good smelly candle. With notes of burnt amber and patchouli, Jane Darcy’s All Is Calm is a cosy night in in a jar. This set comes with a candle, reed diffuser, and room spray. Gorge.
