Celebrate Día De Los Muertos With These Three Delicious Tequila Cocktail Recipes

Today, Mexicans celebrate Día de los Muertos (AKA Day of the Dead), raising a toast to their late loved ones in tribute to their lives.

The annual festival, which is renowned for its colourful sugar skull decorations and face paints, has become a global celebration over the years. If you want to get into the spirit of things, these three tequila cocktail recipes are perfect for the weekend that’s in it. Cheers!



  • 50ml Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver
  • 30ml fresh lime juice
  • 15ml organic agave syrup
  • Ice
  • Lime for garnish
  • Salt for rim


  1. Rub rim of a chilled margarita glass with half a lime
  2. Dip into salt to coat half of the glass
  3. In a shaker with ice, add Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver, fresh lime juice and organic agave syrup
  4. Shake vigorously
  5. Strain into the margarita glass
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with lime wedge



  • 40ml Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver tequila
  • Sparkling lemon
  • Lime


  1. Add ice in the glass
  2. Add Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver
  3.  Top up with sparkling lemon
  4. Squeeze and drop a lime wedge in the glass
  5. Garnish with lime wedge




  • 35.5ml Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver
  • 35.5ml grapefruit juice
  • 35.5ml soda water
  • Wedge of lime to serve


  1. In a sugar rimmed Collins glass, combine Cuervo, grapefruit juice and soda water over ice
  2. Garnish with lime
