Here’s Six Divine Irish Wine Bars For National Wine & Cheese Day
Sláinte!
It’s National Wine and Cheese Day!
What better way to celebrate than with a glass of your favourite vino and some nibbles to match? Or better yet, let someone who knows what they’re talking about pick the perfect glass for you.
We’ve rounded up six gorgeous Irish wine bars around the country, so that you can treat yourself tonight, and this weekend, and next week…
Sláinte!
All Good Wine Bar, Dublin

All Good is one of our favourite spots in Dublin city, with a beautifully curated natural wine menu. The guys here know what they’re talking about and you’ll be sure to get a seriously divine glass of wine (or five). It’s got an intimate vibe but a great buzz, and regular live music from Irish Dj’s, which we always love to see. Pay them a visit on Aungier Street from six til late on Friday’s and Saturdays – you won’t be disappointed.
Éan Bakery, Restaurant & Wine Bar, Galway

Éan have a great bakery and restaurant, but today we’ve got our eyes on their wine bar above all else. In the evenings, this tucked away gem on Druid Lane has a gorgeous selection of wines which are all carefully selected by their knowledgeable team. They specialise in natural, biodynamic and organic wines, and occasionally do wine tastings too, if you’re feeling fancy!
Ox Cave Wine Bar, Belfast

Ox Cave is the little sibling and next door wine bar to Michelin restaurant Ox – and it’s just as impressive. The team here are well versed in their wines, and will be able to point you in the right direction when it comes to pairing your glass with one of their tasty plates. It’s got a classy, upscale feel, and opens Wednesday to Saturday from 5.30pm.
The Black Pig Wine Bar, Kinsale

The Black Pig is a family owned wine bar which has a substantial menu – there’s over 100 wines by the glass on offer, with 250 in total! The team here source from predominantly small artisan vineyards and are all about introducing you to new and different wines.
They have a lovely ethos too; “The black pig is not a fancy place; just a simple place where good friends can relax…” Gorgeous!
The Copper Room, Limerick

The Copper Room is a romantic, low lit wine bar that feels like you’re stepping into a wine cellar from another century. This hidden gem is open Tuesday to Saturday from 5 til late and has a gorgeously warm atmosphere. They’ve got premiere wines, ports, and cheeses to match, plus live Dj’s at the weekend so you can make a night of it.
The Lamplight Wine Bar, Clifden

The Lamplight is “nestled between the the Connemara Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.” It’s a cosy and inviting little wine bar, complete with an eclectic selection of wine from all over the world. This perfect people-watching spot will make it hard for you to leave, so sink into your chair and sip away. Cheers!
