Christmas time, mistletoe and cocktails…
Of course, drinking isn’t the end-all and be-all, but for those of us who do enjoy a tipple or two, we’ve got some festive drinks to sip away on this Christmas break.
Are you ready to perfect your cocktail-making skills? Here are ten cocktail recipes that definitely deserve a spot on the must-try list this year. Plus, if you fancy a mocktail instead, don’t forget you can revamp the recipes a little to do exactly that.
Christmas Miracle

Ingredients:
- 1 candy cane, crushed, for garnish
- 2 ounces strawberry vodka
- 4 dashes white creme de menthe
- 2 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
- Ice cubes

- 1 ounce Plymouth Gin
- 1 ounce cranberry juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 6 ounces club soda (or enough to fill)

- 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila
- 1 ounce coconut milk
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur (triple sec or Grand Marnier)

- 1/2 ounce white cranberry juice
- Garnish: lime slice
- Garnish: cranberries
- Garnish: rosemary sprig

- 1 (0.13-oz.) packet Kool-Aid Lemon Lime mix
- 4 c. water
- 4 c. ice
- 3 c. lemon-lime soda
- 2 c. pineapple juice

- 1 c. ginger ale

- Red sanding sugar, for rimming

Bailey Salted Caramel Espresso Martini

- 2.5 oz Baileys Salted Caramel
- 2 oz Rum
- 4 oz Chilled Espresso
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

- 1.5 ounces Peppermint Kaluha
- 1.5 ounces half and half

Irish Coffee

Ingredients:
- 10ml Demerara and Muscovado sugar syrup
- 35ml Jameson
- 30ml lightly whipped double cream
- 90ml medium roasted espresso coffee
- 1 vanilla pod or cinnamon for garnish
- Fresh grated nutmeg

The Shelbourne: Soleir

Ingredients:
- 20 ml Gin Bertha’s Revenge
- 20 ml Montenegro Amaro
- 40ml Homemade cherry liqueur
- 25 ml Milk
- Pineapple
- Citric acid
- Dehydrated pineapple for garnish
Method:
- Mash two pineapple slices inside a pot with a muddler.
- Add a pinch of citric acid.
- 5 minutes later, add Gin, Amaro and Liquor into the mixture.
- Stir gently a couple times and let it sit.
- Pour the warm whole milk in a second pot.
- Fine strain the first mixture into the pot with the warm milk and stir gently.
- After 10 minutes strain it through a sifter and a coffee filter. Leave it filtrating in the fridge.
- The mixture is then ready to be served into a Nick and Nora glass. Serve with a spiced dehydrated pineapple slice and enjoy.
The Kingsley: Snow Martini

Ingredients:
- 35ml Vodka
- 2 shots Cream
- Half shot White cacao
- Half shot Vanilla syrup
- Fresh squeeze of orange juice
Method:
- Mix altogether in shaker with ice and strain.
- Grate chocolate on top to garnish.
- Serve in a martini glass.
Carton House: The Earl

Ingredients:
- 50ml Bulleit bourbon
- 35ml Guinness
- 20ml sugar syrup
- 2 dash angostura bitters
- 1 egg
- Chocolate powder to garnish
Method:
- Add all the ingredients to the shaker and dry shake for roughly 10-15 seconds.
- Add ice and shake again for 10-15 seconds.
- Double strain into a coupe glass and add chocolate powder to garnish.
