Beyoncé’s Dad Mathew Knowles Reveals He Has Been Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Beyoncé’s dad, Mathew Knowles is opening up about his breast cancer diagnosis in an exclusive interview with Good Morning America.

The Interview is set to air this evening, however, a teaser clip was released, which has fans and followers talking.

The preview clip shows journalist Michael Strahan speaking to Mathew about his recent diagnosis, asking how it was to tell his family about the illness.

Mathew divorced his wife Tina Knowles in 2011 following 30 years of marriage, but the two have remained close and continue to support their daughters Beyoncé and Solange. The businessman also went on to remarry and have two more children with his wife Gena.

Mathew himself has also shared on his twitter that he will be making a special announcement on the show.

The release of the interview coincides with the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Although rare, male breast cancer can occur in men, usually over the age of 60.

In 2019, it is expected that 2,670 men will be diagnosed with the disease, while the lifetime risk for a male to be diagnosed with breast cancer is 1 in 833.
