With the sunny weather finally making a (relatively) long-term appearance, we’re on the hunt for lighter fare this lunchtime.

But a lunchtime salad doesn’t have to be boring, and there are a whole heap of Dublin spots serving up colourful, crunchy and – above all  – tasty plates of leafy goodness.

Here are a few of our faves…

Counter Culture, Powerscourt Townhouse Centre

Their Vegan Superfood Crunch salad comes packed with smoked almonds, kale, chickpeas, quinoa. Devine.

Jo’Burger, Smithfield, Rathmines and Castle Market

Their spiced roast carrot salad gets our vote, especially if it’s topped with chicken. Protein packed perfection.

Oxmantown, 16 Mary’s Abbey

This place is best known for its sandwiches, but the daily salad specials are always downright incredible too.

Sister Sadie, Harrington St

Lunch or brunch, this place offers up amazing Middle Eastern flavours. Just look at that plate of yumminess, for God’s sake.

Chopped, Baggot St

As well as a vast buffet of make-your-own salads (chopped up before you pay), these guys also have a massive menu of salad combo suggestions. Our fave is the vegan body builder, with tofu, brown rice, broccoli and other tasty things.

Blazing Salads, Drury St

Another choose-your-own effort, Blazing Salads is perfect for grabbing an intensely tasty but totally healthy bite on the go.

Cornucopia, Wicklow St

This place has been the go-to spot for veggie food in Dublin for 30 years, and things don’t look set to change yet. Massive portions, incredible flavours and lovely staff. Our pick? The beetroot, pear and rocket with creme fraiche.
