4 Healthy Breakfasts Worth Jumping Out Of Bed For, According To Irish Bloggers
Yum. These four breakfasts are definitely the best way to start your day.
We don’t know why, but breakfast is the one meal we always struggle with. We roll out of bed completely starvo and need to grab something mega tasty, with enough energy to get us through the day, before we have to rush out the door and get to work. We know what we need… but somehow we always end up hastily scoffing down an unsatisfying bowl of cereal.
To fix this, we turned to our favourite Irish food bloggers for help. Luckily, they’ve got a whole host of yummy breakfast ideas that we just can’t wait to try out in the morning.
Rosanna Davison’s Buckwheat, banana and hemp power protein pancakes
We will say this one takes a little prep so it may be worth saving it until the weekend. Combing a mix of buckwheat flour, unsweetened almond milk, hemp seeds, banana and cinnamon, this recipe by Rosanna Davison tastes too good to be good for you – but it is! Rosanna has topped hers with blueberries, banana and desiccated coconut, but feel free to garnish as you desire. rosannadavisonnutrition.com.
Roz Purcell’s gluten-free granola
Forget the cornflakes. Roz Purcell makes this healthier cereal alternative, with a mix of buckwheat groats, quinoa pops, hazelnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds and honey. We say make a batch on Sunday night to see you through the whole week. naturalbornfeeder.com.
Teddy & Alex’s green protein smoothie bowls
We interviewed bloggers Teddy and Alex recently about how to make delicious smoothie bowls, and we’ve been hooked on them ever since. This one is a summery combo of banana, spinach, apple, orange juice, vanilla whey and mint leaves. Perfect for girls who like something light in the morning. wheyhey.com.
The Super Fit Foodie’s overnight oats
This one’s a real treat because it’ll be ready to eat in the morning. And it’s super easy to make too, as The Super Fit Foodie explains in full here. “Simply mix all the ingredients together, cover with cling film and then leave in the fridge overnight. In the morning you can eat as is or top with some crushed nuts and seeds, some berries, honey, fruit or shredded coconut, whatever you like really,” explains the recipe’s creator. thesuperfitfoodie.com.
