6 Signs It’s Time To Call It Quits On Your Relationship
Ending things is never easy but if you can relate to any of these six things, it might be time to break things off once and for all.
Should I stay or should I go?
If that question has been rolling around in your head you’ll know that it’s a tricky one to answer. Relationships are tough and knowing whether it time to call it quits isn’t always a clear-cut decision.
Luckily, we’re here to help, and we reckon these six things are a good indicator of when it’s officially time to end it.
1. They don’t make you a priority
Ask yourself a question: when was the last time they put you first? And we mean, really put you first; letting you have the TV remote for the first time in six months doesn’t count. If your SO is always thinking about themselves and acting like a selfish so and so, it might be time to look for someone who’s prepared to make you their number one priority.
2. Your friends and family aren’t keen
Have your mam and dad given him the seal of approval? Are your friends happy to hang out with you and your other half together? If your relationship is to have any sort of a future, your nearest and dearest will need to, at the very, very least, be able to tolerate your other half.
3. You can’t trust him
Here’s the kicker: you say you trust your fella, yet you still check his phone five times a day and wonder where he’s got to if he’s a half an hour late. Lack of trust is toxic to any relationship; address the issue with your SO and if you still leave with an uneasy feeling it might be time to call it quits.
4. The passion is gone
Dissatisfaction in the bedroom is often a sign of bigger issues. If you’ve stopped having it on the regular, it may be a sign that one or both of you have lost interest in the relationship. Likewise, if the only thing going for the both of you is your, er, bedroom antics, a split may be your best option.
5. You’ve started noticing other guys
Developed a roving eye? Uh-oh, if Mark from accounts suddenly seems exciting, exotic and (gasp) sexy it may be that all your needs and wants aren’t being met with your current fella.
6. You’re unhappy
And crucially, you’ve felt that way for a while. You’ve been putting a sticky plaster over your problems and nothing seems to be helping. Do yourself a favour, ladyfriend, if your relationship is routinely making you sad, it might be that you’ll feel happier on your own.
