2FM’s Louise McSharry Just Shared A First (Adorable) Picture Of Baby Sam
She and her husband Gordon welcomed their first child last week.
Louise McSharry’s first tweet after welcoming her new son into the world had us reaching for the tissues, so we knew her first picture of little Sam was probably going to be a doozy too.
The 2FM presenter gave birth to a baby boy last week, telling her followers on Twitter that he was “the best thing ever.” This morning Louise shared a gorgeous snap of little Sam resting his head on her chest, covered with a blanket. “I’m a zen Earth Mother now guys. (Not pictured: Vat of hormonal tears.)” she wrote. That social media honesty – refreshing, wha’?
On Friday the new mum took to social media to thank her friends and followers for “all the lovely wishes for my new little family,” adding, “I’m not sure how it happened, but I appear to have been given the world’s greatest baby? Sorry everyone else.”
Louise and her husband of one year Gordon Spierin announced they were expecting their first child together back in April 2016. After going through a gruelling round of cancer treatment throughout late 2014 and early 2015, Louise was uncertain she would be able to conceive, something she was open about on social media and in the press.
“The treatment which had saved my life had also decimated my egg count. Where I should have been at 35 or 40 on the scale of being able to conceive, I was a two,” she wrote in a blog post, going on to admit just how lucky she was to have been able to conceive naturally.
“A few months after we started trying, I got pregnant. We spent the seven weeks between finding out and going for a scan in total disbelief, barely telling anyone, and trying not to get our hopes up,” she recalled.
