5 Food Blogger-Approved Cheat Clean Treats We’re Eating This Weekend
Thanks to our favourite Irish food bloggers, we've found five yummy treats that are as healthy as they are tasty.
It’s (almost) the weekend, and all we really want to do is clock off from our diets and eat lots of scrummy food. And we’d totally do that, except we know we’ll have a major case of the guilts, not to mention one helluva food baby, come Monday morning.
So this is what we did. We trawled through our favourite Irish food blogs and Instagram accounts, in search of some clean-eating friendly eats, that taste oh-so-bold, but thanks to their healthy ingredients, are oh-so-good for you. And boy, were we spoiled for choice!
Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too? Not us! Here’s what cheat clean treats we’re having this weekend…
1. Raspberry and chocolate loaf
A double win? This raspberry and chocolate loaf doesn’t just taste amazing, it’s also packed full of antioxidants. It’s just one of many healthy recipes from food blog The Healthy Essence. Set up by mates Lucy and Lisa, the girls wanted to show that “healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring or tasteless.” This scrummy loaf certain isn’t that.
2. Banana and pecan muffins
Food blogger Lisa Murrain AKA @the_health_balance shows us just how truly delicious healthy eating can be. We found ourselves drooling while stalking her Instagram account, especially over these paleo banana and pecan muffins. We’ll take ten, please.
3. Protein pancakes
Irish food blogger The Healthy Happy Me explains that she transformed her body by “eating healthy most of the time, no restrictions and not depriving myself.” If these protein pancakes are part of her healthy eating plan we’ll be making them a regular in our daily diet.
4. Coconut milk ice-pops
Fitness blogger mum Bear And Sparkle gives us serious food envy. Her Insta is loaded with pics of delicious, healthy food. One of our faves? It’s these coconut milk ice-pops. They’re guilt-free and perfect to cool you down on a (rare) summer’s day.
5. Paleo bread
Food and fitness enthusiast Day Dreamer Chic posts everything from a “normal girl’s perspective” and her blog is full of fab tips for eating clean. One of our fave cheat clean recipes is this delish paleo bread. That loaf definitely won’t last long, but if there’s a slither left come Monday AM we’ll be packing it in our lunch box and taking it into the office.
